Meet Dr. Sonn Sam
Dr. Sonn Sam is an educator, innovator, and storyteller who believes every learner holds infinite potential. As the son of Cambodian refugees, his journey fuels his commitment to designing systems where students feel seen, valued, and inspired to lead their own learning.
With more than two decades of experience as a teacher, principal, regional director, and national education leader, Sonn has helped schools and districts transform through relationship-centered design, advisory systems, and interest-based learning. He currently serves as National Director of Partnerships at Big Picture Learning, where he supports networks across the country in making learning personal and purposeful.
Through his consulting and keynote work with PDLNow, Dr. Sam brings heart, humor, and hope to every engagement—inviting leaders to rediscover why they lead and how purpose can transform the learning experience for all.
